It just shows how vulnerable we still are in this world. The Eyjafjallajökull volcano is causing chaos throughout Europe. The Icelandic volcano is sending ash our way which has halted all air traffic. Nothing has been allowed in or out of the UK for a couple of days and it seems that it will continue over the weekend. Never has our airspace been so quiet since the invention of the aeroplane. Below is a satellite image of the ash plume. Iceland is at the top right of the picture and you can see the brown ash heading to northern Scotland.

The graphic below better shows how we are blanketed by the ash, planes are not able to fly safely through it as it clogs the engines causing them to stall.

Well we have finally hit a new record high in petrol prices (in the UK). They are blaming this on the week pound against the dollar and a rise in fuel duty. For all of you who don’t realise how much we pay in tax, there is an illustration below. So it looks like the car will stay on the drive more often.

It’s Good Friday and so it’s the beginning of a four day weekend. I’m looking forward to recharging my batteries and possibly doing some writing. I’ve not written anything for several weeks now and I want to get back to Three Tears.
